H1N1 crash course

Confirmed cases of H1N1 lately is making everyone panic without the right reasons. I may not be a doctor to justify all these, but a close friend of mine who is a qualified pharmacist (please note that 'guai lou's pharmacy concept is 100% different from ours in Malaysia) clarified a few points.

1. The H1N1 now is not the so-called 'original virus' from pigs back in the 1920s. It is an infection circulating around human all these while, just like cough and normal flu around the air.

2. H1N1 is being categorized as a flu, just cause it is indeed just a flu. You know, those normal flu you get when your immune system is unable to fight back the normal flu?

3. As we know, we recover from the normal kinda flu once we get proper medication and recovers. Same goes to H1N1, human are contracted to it cause of the immune system. Once the immune system is boosted and recovered, eventually H1N1 will be gone as well from the system.

4. ONLY people who are immuno-compromised (lack of immunity in their body and unable to fight back contractions), like those with cancer and diabetic face risks in being killed by H1N1.

5. SO GOOD NEWS for normal people like you and me, as long our immune system exists in us (which is and always will be), we will be fine and not freaking die!

6. SOLUTION? H20 and Vitamin C. Lots of it! Take more fluids and 4gm Vitamin C per day. It will definitely boost up your immune system and prevent H1N1 from infecting your system even if someone with H1N1 sneezed directly into your face.

7. Masks don't work! Yes babe, H92 or H99 or whatever masks with canggih-manggih name for it, or how often you wear it even in sleep or kissing your girlfriends. ONLY surgical mask works. Yes, surgical masks. Can you find one?

C'mon guys. Please don't fear something you do not know. Just only because others are panicking, we just follow suit blindly for the heck of it. Typical human nature. I almost got annoyed by people who are just worrying everyday as if they are waiting for the flu to infect them.

If you're not infected by H1N1, live your life normally. If you're a positive H1N1 carrier, live life normally as well. What difference does it make? All you need is some medication and rest, just like when you get a common flu.

Michael Jackson Passed Away!

OMG, Michael Jackson has died! I overheard the news from through radio this morning. I don't know about you all, but I grew up listening to his song. And I remember I was thrilled the first time I watch his music video "Black and White". This is such a big shock as I heard he is preparing his London Comeback tour in this July...

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson RIP

Student survey

Aaron's recent blog article "a weird profession called students" makes me recall of a youtube video about student survey (comments/feedback/evaluation on lecturer) in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Hope this will bring laughter to everyone, enjoy!

Also Me and Aaron welcome your feedback on our lecture. But hopefully a constructive one XD

SoFake

Really cool transition effect on the Röyksopp Music Video- epal. It reminds me of a website - Sofake. Really cool and creative, yet the transition so smooth... errr at that time lar.(around year 2002~2003, makes me feel so old...sob ...) .

Check it Out! http://www.sofake.com/

Röyksopp

And so I got to know quite a number of fellas who got hooked to the song used in Deadline: post-it stop motion, including me.

It's by Röyksopp from their 1st album: Melody A.M. and is still a hit in live concerts today. Went searching for its original music video, and it's real hard to look for it and that it's a classic rare.

p/s: Do you think the style of the music video can become a potential Flash Web transition design?

Anyway, here it is:

stop motion: DEADLINE

3 MONTHS of planning...

4 DAYS of shooting...

6,000++ post-it notes...

...and you're still wondering why pre-production is always important in any forms of projects? =P
